My car Seat has a Tear / Cut and its growing. What is a good way of repairing this? I have taken this cover off years ago to fix a different issue. So...I was thinking of removing it again and perhaps put that leather paste in the back side with cloth and fill front and paint it following the kit instructions. I found this site and was thinking of trying it. Is this any good? www.leathertouchupdye.com The full kit is $130+ is there a cheaper way of repairing this? I really don't have this kind of money right now.
I'm sure there's a way to repair it but if it's starting to crack there, that means the entire seat area around there is in the "same condition". I think if you fix it, it's going to tear in a spot next to where you fixed it and you're going to drive yourself nuts. I could be wrong.
My vote is for getting the seat covers re-made out of new material, of course this is going to cost a lot more than $130.
Okay well I found a roll of this this synthetic breathable leather fabric for $20 so I'm gonna take it apart and give try to restore the section and post on here with a old school ancient knitting machine. The shop wants hundreds of dollars and a new seat cover is hundreds more so lets see what happens... will post when the roll comes and do the repair. Maybe this be a nice way for future people to salvage save their seats and save big money.
