What's it worth?
I have a dark blue 2001 IS300 with almost 200K miles on it. I have owned it since 2003. It has parking lot dings and paint that has lost it's clearcoat and a whole rash of stone chips on the leading edge of the hood. It has never been in a major accident and the doors all close smoothly. It's a very early production model that doesn't have the sticky dash problem. The engine doesn't burn oil, but it leaks it. It has several leaky seals. The trunk lid and back bumper were repainted in 2017 (they got scratched), but the rest of the car is original. It has a pretty clean set of Rays Versus Campionato SS7 L-Tuned wheels on it. It has an extensive factory maintenance history. Would like some input on what the car is worth. Any comments?

Price
Sadly even my good condition lower miles 01 can only currently get 5000 and that's with mods
These cars have bad resale value because maintenance is so expensive
But I've taken care of most maintenance so my price is a bit higher

$4000-4500 is the going rate for a "clean" car with 150k or less miles from what I see a lot. The rest are $2000-2500. Paint gone, dents, leaks, window/door lock issues etc. upwards of 200k miles. My friend just bought one for $2000 with minor issues but flaking clear coat.

I just bought an 2001 with 124K, two owners, southern car. Florida and Texas. Had little bit of hail damage and the tops have been repainted. Driver seat torn a little, and few things. The timing belt, water pump, thermostat, cam seals, MAF, 02 sensors and new brakes on front. Purchased for 5K. I am very happy with the car. I have since then removed all of the dents and dings, and wet sanded the whole car. The original paint on the doors and fenders are still in great shape, minus one little spot. I have just completed changing out the spark plugs, wires, cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and replaced the valve covers. I also went ahead and changed out some rotting hoses in the engine bay.

Advanced
I bought mine in 2019 for around 11'000k usd, with 35k miles. What justified the price was the near new mechanical states, and the fact that the selller replaced the old plastics, the gaskets, the belts, the ignition coil (with one failing immediately after the sale and replaced for free).
In 2020, I plan to replace the tie rods and the lower ball joint. This is something I didn't realized at the buying, but I'm starting to hear small clunking sounds. Of course, with everything closed due to Coronavirus, I need to be patient and I actually drive the car like it's made of pure glass.
