Altezza cluster found in storage
Back in the day we used to take the altezza cluster and put the usdm motors and motherboard with the jdm ring and face. This has been sitting in the closet since ten years ago or more. I found it digging around. I used it on my silver 01 and white 02 Takes about 20 mins to snap the parts in. The downfall of course being that it reads in kilometers so it’s best to have a gps in your car for precise speed (or use an app). It looked really good in there though, especially when using aftermarket lighting.
Back then these clusters were $300 IF you could get your hands on one. I haven’t bothered looking at what they go for now. This one seems to be missing a pointer, maybe ill come across it in ten more years. Lol. The regular needles fit it, they just aren’t silver. I’d have to paint a replacement needle and stick it on if i ever get another is300. I’ve been wanting one for a little while. Maybe it’s time to grab one and dust this cluster off.

Cool find and story, bro. I've never really understood the fascination with badging the IS300 to it's Japanese counterpart, the Altezza. It's just so friggin' ricey to me, but thats JMO.
Did the Jap guys want to pull their 'Tezza badges and install the IS3's? Just doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

This is really cool, so I'm curious about this swap you guys used to do. Taking the ring and face and the motors etc. attached to it, and swapping it into the USDM gauge cluster? I have both so I'm wondering! Did it read KPH?
