IS300 2001 Light switch not working correctly

IS300 2001 Light switch not working correctly
My IS started behaving following way:
When light switch is in "AUTO" position, no headlights, no speedo lights ect.
Other positions work as they should...
when you turn the **** from Off to - you can hear the relay, and the ☀️ position there no sound relay going off... But in the "AUTO" position you can hear the relay switching off.
reversing the switch to ☀️ position makes the relay pop on again...
is this typical failure?
