What to do about my fuel filler door being bent out of shape?
Sup everyone, as a disclaimer to the following circumstances, allow me to be the first to admit I don’t know ****** about cars and I am a total spazz, noob, etc.. I was replacing the fuel door spring on my is300 2001 as it was missing entirely. I approached the install with a lack of finesse and a fuel door that was already a bit banged up from yanking it open (before I knew to prop the fuel door opening lever in order to get it open) well, after some wrangling and excessive/unnecessary force, I got the spring in place but not after ef’ing up the fuel door to the point where it sits slightly open now. Any advice on how to remove dents from it and or how to buy a new one/install it? Also, 180k miles on it, pristine condition otherwise. Interior and exterior. I’m the second owner..

Man that's kind of a tough one. Do you have pictures of the actual bent part of the door? I don't mean a picture of it not shutting all the way because that won't help much. You may be able to get a body shop to help you, I'm sure it's easy to fix by someone that is familiar with sheet metal work.
