This time I got unlucky ^^
Bought a new Lexus IS300 with low mileage lately (40k miles). I was super happy, got with my spouse to the restaurant at the evening, everything all right.
Second day, I'm going to the shopping center and ... the engine light is on, VSC light goes on and the Trac Off light is on too.
Brought a very roughly going IS300 to the dealer, and I seem to have a molten ignition coil that took the battery cable with him.
Unfortunately, Lexus Switzerland hasn't this part, it must be ordered in Japan and will take 10 days. Now I'm traveling by bike. I'm a little bit pissed. The garage is super responsive and helps out, but I really hope it's the only time I will experience this.
Do you have often those ignition coil failures, and how do you deal with it ?

Hello,
I putted 3 new ignition coils yesterday. Bought them from a place in UK. I was surprised, because the quality seems better than the OEM Lexus part.
Now the IS300 is roaring fine. It purrs at idle and pulls with brutal force. Very satisfied.

Little advice for changing the ignition coils.
Be aware that all the three coils that are running should be of the same maker and type, because it can generate unbalances in the firing. In theory it shouldn't. In practice, it does. So if you decide to go for whatever makers you find on ebay, change the three coils, not simply one.
Other advice, it looks like Lexus doesn't offer the highest quality in regard of iginition coils. So the OEM isn't necessarly the best way to go. Especially in Switzerland, when a simple Lexus OEM coil costs you the price of three british ignition coils.

What manufacturer was it on the coils? I changed a coil in my IS200 but they have coil on plug one for each cylinder. Denso was not avaible for IS200 so i bought a Blueprint. It have so far hold up just fine for me
