Intake manifold vacuum lines to butterfly HELP
helllo guys and gals im new to this forum and to Lexus altogether. Ive had plenty of dsm but first 2j. Im the process of doing timing belt and all the parts that attain to it like WP, tensioner ETC. As i am taking of the valve covers to change the gaskets i notice the butterfly which from my research is part of the acis system. Well i notice that the valve has a vacuum underneath thats not hooked u and it dont look like it got ripped. My question is is this right i dont think so because how would it work and i have noticed not too much low end torque which is a result when you take it out? ive been looking everywhere for pics or diagrams to reference but i cant find anything.i dont thingk any vacuums should be unhooked but again my first 2j
any help please.

from what I’ve learned.... and I was wondering myself at one point... there are 2 ... one on either side of the VVTI
they don’t have any hoses attached... they are as they are.

Oh I think I know what you're talking about. Part of the upper timing cover bracket on the IS300 has this metal vacuum line attached to it. You can see the ends of it on either side of the motor left and right. My car was all OEM when I got it from the PO and there was nothing hooked up on those lines. Now since I've turbo'd my car I used it to get a vacuum/pressure source from the intake side to the turbo's wastegate/bov.
So on an IS300 I don't think there's supposed to be anything hooked up to those..... if they're the same thing I'm thinking about.
