Smile Very low seat recommandations for the Lexus IS300 MK1

Hello guys.

I'm normally posting on the RC forum, but this time, I'm here.

I'm going to buy a very clean, and very low mileage Lexus IS300 of the first generation. The car was perfectly maintenanced, yearly serviced and cared about. It's a wonderful car, looks like new.

I just have a problem of beeing very near of the roof when beeing in normal position, and I want to change that. And yes, my upper part of the body is anormally long. I'm only 6.4 feets, but I often meet the limits of car designs when I'm interested in a car.

I need to win 1cm in height, better would be two centimeters (making 0.78 inches). I will probably go for a lower seat, when possible a model with still a reclining function. For winning eight I thought about having a seat with side mounting system, but I didn't saw a lot of them, and the most of them I saw where racing bucket seats. Do you know seats with a side monting system that are semi-buckets ?

Another question of me could be : in the worst case, I could even go with a bucket seat, but beeing a bit puffy aournd the hips and this long upper body (nothing fat, but I'm not thin), I will probably need a very specific seat. Do you have recommandations.

My budget would be less than 2000 dollar for a seat. Would only change the driver seat.

There are reclining racing seats - I put Corbeau units in my old escort and they sat lower than the factory seats.

Looks like they have some options that aren't true buckets which may be more comfortable

Thank you.

I effctively saw something interesting at Corbeau under the type name A4 Racing seat. Leather version at 1'138 $ msrp. I also heard from the garage selling the Lexus that they could recommend those seats, especially when custom shop tailoring is needed. Whatever, they are very discrete on the swiss market, never met them anywhere for beeing honest.

For 1'346 euros, there is the Bride StradiaII type-XL. With the bad point of beeing not leathered and the strong point to look completely dope and have a side fixation mechanism. . Ironically, they are more widely distributed.

The Sparco Milano R700 is more widely available here. But also costyl (around 1'800 $ msrp).

Little complementary question of me : But when going for another seat, we probably need a new rail system as well. Is it possible to gain eight with the rail too ?

You definitely need new rail/mounts. I doubt they would be heavier - if anything they should be lighter since they aren't designed for bells and whistles found in factory units
