Default is200 engine into is300

i have certain demands for a new daily driver, i want a 4 cylinder rwd sedan. only one i know of is e36 318i. i was thinking how the rest of the world got a 4 cyl is300 called the is200. those engine trans ecu harness combo go for 1500-2000 on enay. does anyone have any idea how hard or easy it would be to put a 3sge into an is300. do not tell me how dumb it is. i already have an sc300 so the 2j box is checked.

I think the Beams only came in the RS200 Altezza. The IS200/AS Altezza came with the 1GFE 2.0L I6 engine. I think someone at my.is/forums might have done the beams swap at some point back in the day. I don't recall it being all that simple though....good luck man.

from jellyblasted on my.is
"I'm actually in the middle of this swap. As far as engine fitment goes, no issues whatsoever. I made motor mounts because mine were shot, but other than that the 3s literally falls into place. You can even reuse the tranny mount. About exhaust fitment, im going to reuse the stock headers and fab up a custom y-pipe to fit past the steering column. "

that's enough for me one day ill try it and post what happens
