Browsing old threads? Notice the photo bucket links not working?

photo bucket updated their protocols and changed their policies on hotlinking pictures. This has caused quite a hiccup in the automotive community, as many forum threads once loaded with valuable information changed into lists of empty images.

Stress no more. A developer has released a extension for chrome to work around the block and allow all of us access to the images and information.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj

if the link doesn't work, just search photo bucket embed.

as of today 23 Sept 2017 it is working.

sorry if this isn't US related. It will be usefully for the older threads on this forum.

I'm assuming this (and the other fixes) do so without PB's permission and will be taken down eventually? If Photobucket don't want users linking to images hosted by them without paying $$$/£££ then these extensions are not a fix.

The damage is done. Photobucket have ruined swathes of the internet with their high handed action. The fix is for everyone to close their accounts with PB and use Imgur etc. The permanent fix is for everyone to pay for hosting. That won't happen but Photobucket don't deserve anyone's business and I really do hope they tank. There's nothing stopping Imgur etc doing the same but hopefully they wouldn't give the entire world just 48 hours notice.
