Default My new 2002 IS300

Hi everyone just thought I'd share my IS300. I picked it up about 2 months ago. I'm from Nebraska but I drove down to Texas to get it. It needs a few cosmetic items (windshield, sidemarkers, grille) but it's mostly in good shape. Prior to owning this I had a 1991 Supra with a 7m that I rebuilt in my garage. Since buying the IS I've added a fuel pump, coilovers, and new wheels/tires. Anyways here is my mod list and a few pictures. The first 2 pictures are the day I picked it up and the last 2 are how it is currently. I will probably raise it slightly because it rubs a bit in the front.

JDM Aristo 2jzgte
A340e transmission
Borg Warner S366 turbo
Front mount intercooler
TurboSmart wastegate
Tial bov
Walbro 255
Custom turboback exhaust (Apexi muffler)
Yonaka coilovers
XXR 551 18x18.75 +36 (came black but I had them painted "Header Orange" off of the TA Viper.

This is the only engine bay pic I have right now. It was pretty dirty at the time though.

Very clean! Im contemplating between nat and doing a vvti 2jzgte swap. Exact setup in looking to run!

What kind of engine management and injectors?

Right now I'm just on stock 440's and Aristo ecu but I'll probably just do a piggyback and some 550's and call it good. I don't want to push it any farther power-wise because of the automatic limitations. It's really fun as it is though.

What kind of AFRs are you seeing? I'm curious to see how the stock ecu handles the brg Warner. What kind boost are you running? And you'd be surprised just how strong those auto trannys can be.

No wideband right now. I'll pick one up before spring but it'll be parked for the winter anyways as it's not my daily. Currently I have a 14 lb spring but I purchased a 10 lb that I'm going to throw in for safe measure until I have a wideband. But I've seen guys with the USDM gte's with 550's run this turbo anywhere from 14-17 psi on the stock ecu with no tune without issues. My only concern is running out of fuel at 14 lbs as I'm sure I'm reaching the limit on the 440's. I know of 2 people on Supraforums for sure that run the stock ecu, stock 550's, and this exact turbo at 17 psi, making 420-500 whp each with no piggyback's. And then there's the A340e, which I've read is good anywhere from 400-500 whp as long as you don't abuse it. I don't launch, do burnouts, or really even drive it that hard, so I'm not terribly worried about that.

That's interesting I wasn't aware the stock ecu could compensate so much without tunning. The stock TT transmission was by used by a fellow in the forum. Shimmed it and modded the valve body. Stock otherwise. Car ran consistent low 11s. Then 10s. Then 9s. Over 120 passes at the track and it was still holding up. He ended up selling it though.

What kind of turbo manifold are you running?

That's pretty impressive. I know that the 2nd gear sprag is known to go, so I never punch it in 1st gear and let it shift to 2nd for that reason. I know that cooling is a big deal on these transmissions also. I rarely even let it shift at WOT just to avoid any issues. Anyways to be honest I'm really not sure on the brand of manifold I'm running.
