Default Low Engine Oil Light

My low engine oil light has been coming on/off periodically since my last oil change I had done at a reputable shop.
I have check the oil, and it showed it has been low, so I have added oil a handful of times.

Anyone else deal with this? precursor to a larger issue?

Leaks you can see?

I would start with the valve cover and oil pan gaskets.

There seems to be some small leak somewhere. Not the valve cover though. That gasket was just replaced less than a year ago.

The thing that bothers me is it comes in for about 20 seconds, then goes away. Then comes back on later for another 20-30 seconds.

I have the same thing in our 2006 GS300. The low engine oil light comes on intermittently. Did you ever figure out what the problem was with yours?.

Your oil pump might be on the way out .I had this issue on my integra especially standing on the red light , as soon as the car was going it went away as there was sufficient pressure again. I would get it looked at asap as you can damage your rod bearings and scorche the crankshaft.

It's more likely that the oil pump is going bad than a leak on the oil pan. I would definitely change that out asap before the engine goes away....

While you're in there might as well change the timing belt and water pump if you haven't done that in awhile. They're cheap parts that could be worthy of a replacement since you have everything apart.
