Default Looking into a turbo conversion

I plan on putting a turbo into my is300 and am wondering if i can just get a supra intake manifold and just put in a turbo kit from there, or what would be the easiest, yet most efficient way? Im new in a way, so dont judge me if this is a stupid question. Just want to make sure i do it right the first time. What parts would i have to replace to get a fully functional turbo kit? thank you

Buy an off the shelf kit because building and piecing if you don't know what you're doing is going to be tough. A GTE manifold will not fit your head with out a substantial amount of machining from what i've heard. You will need to run a GTE headgasket if you want to run anything over 8PSI and if you have an Auto trans you might want to look into having an upgraded sprag put into your trans because they don't like much over 300-350 WHP for an extended period of time. Stock Supra turbo setup is a little too much for a GE engine in stock form to handle so take it easy unless you want to buy another motor...

Kits are generally overpriced and overly marked up...

It's relatively simple, though costly...

Expect to spend $5000 for a basic turbo setup that will net you 350-400 whp if you do all the work and no, or not a lot, of custom work is required...

It doesn't sound like you have read up on this at all, I suggest you start looking through turbo build threads to get a start...

Kits are generally higher priced but for good reason. Usually they require very little to no modification as opposed to building your own kit piece by piece. I'm a fan of avoiding a headache if you havent been able to tell as of yet. The money is always the determining factor though.
