Welding Exhaust question!

I'm currently at school right now, and we're starting to learn about welding. I wanted to know how much amps would be best for welding exhaust? What brand would you recommend?

depends on the type of metal, thickness, tig or mig?

Mig & Carbon steel w/ aluminized coating... Don't know about thickness yet, it's a HKS Hi-Power Muffler... I wanted to make a custom dual, with 3 or 4 inch mufflers
