Yamaha will be producing the motors.

2.4L Inline 4 210HP
2.5L V6 230HP
3.0L V6 260HP
3.5L V6 280-330HP
The Yamaha/Toyota arrangement goes way back. My first Toyota was a '73 Corolla S-5 (the SR-5 came out a year later). I longed for and finally located a 2T-G engine for it from one of those importers of used Japanese motors. This motor shared a block with the OEM 1600cc 2T-C engine but instead of push rods it was a DOHC design. Still just 2 valves / cylinder though. That engine was built by Yamaha way back then. A sweet running maching indeed. My understanding at the time was that all Toyota DOHC engines were from Yamaha. Dunno if that's still true today.

If performance is that high on the priority list, you should be in a WRX. $24,000 for the car plus $1600 for the turbo and intercooler upgrade buys you 400 horsepower at all four wheels. And don't forget to bring an SHO along for comparison.
BUT you forget the tranny, they how horribly weak trannies in those wrx's

man i would cry if they destroyed the IS like that, i agree with the person who said that it looked like a 03 accord and an altima. that is awful. i think the car manufacturers are in a race to see who can make the ugliest car and sell the most of them. i can assure them that i will never buy one. imo if they left the IS the way it is except for a few adjustments here and there for the rest of all time i would be content. who agrees?

dont worry about yamaha's quality, they are to toyota ALMOST as lexus is to toyota, toyota owns yamaha... think of it as like honda cars and honda motorcycles but with different names..
