Just bought an 03 IS300 for a daily driver. Have a few questions to get started.

The car is in decent shape, aside from the melting soft touch paint on the dash. Anyone found a good way to remove this stuff without taking the dash completely apart?

My car only came with the valet key. So i have no keyless entry right now, and can't lock the trunk / glove box What's the most cost effective way to get a new master key cut and key fob?

Also, I'm curious to see what options the car has, is there a guide around here where I can run my vin or somehow figure out what options my car is equipped with?

Thanks in advance

Im very new to this aswell but figured I would try and help. As far as the dash, it is something I am currently dealing with as well and come to the conclusion it will either be taken apart, sanded, painted or just replaced all together.

I would believe your best bet for the new key fob and option inquiry may be the dealer.

MyLexus is a good place to start.
You can find out your maintanance history and such by VIN number

I had a similar situation with my MY03 IS300.
Only came with a valet key so I bought a master key fob from ebay for like 90 shipped.
Got my key cut by VIN number by Sewell http://is.sewellparts.com/
Then went to the dealer to get the master and valet reprogrammed to the car.
Probably not the most effective route but I probably wound up saving money than getting everything done at the dealership.

Thanks, so you can definitely get a master reprogrammed without having one!? I was afraid I'd have to buy a new ECU or something. About how much did all this cost?

Yeah I think the ECU thing only applies to MY01.
I spent 90 for the key, I think 30 to get it cut and 120 to get the ECU reflashed and Master/Valet programmed.
So yeah a little expensive I didn't do it all at once. Bought the key last year and got it cut the beginning of this year and then just got it programmed last month lol.
I still have a habit to lock the doors before I leave the car. Still adjusting to using the fob
