Default Engine Ticking/Bucking...Help Needed!!

Hey Guys,

I've had my car for a little over a year now, no problems until now. I have a full 2.5" exhaust with Mazzuri header and had no problems with that (although I did just find a small exhaust leak, as well as the header having the usual pinholes in the welds, which is typical of Mazzuri's).

I just recently had some BC 264 cams installed last week on August 6. I noticed a few problems when driving the car. Here is a list of symptoms:
  • When driving under 2500 RPMs and applying any kind of acceleration, the car hesitates/bucks quite badly.
  • When idling, the car bucks, and makes a 'ticking' sound coming from the engine. Bucks and 'ticking' are simultaneous. No pattern, very erratic.
  • I just got a CEL on August 10, throwing code p0303. Just ordered some new spark plugs and plug wires.
  • Car is definitely not making full power at all, which is obvious.
  • Bucking/ticking gets worse, more frequent, when the AC is on.

Here is a video of the 'ticking' coming from the engine:

I took it to a shop to have a look at it when I got the CEL. They recommended the spark plugs and wires as they said that they could be bad, or arcing.

Some ideas that have popped up are arcing, valve lash too tight/loose.

Here is the thread on my.is:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick C.
