Removing Residue From Double Side Tape HELP!!
Hey guys i have the is300 2003 in ggp, did some modifications yesterday and removed the stock oem spoiler off by unbolting some screws and ripping it off the double sided tape... now i have a problem, the residue remaining is very difficult, i used a blow dryer and heat gun and goo gone and paint thinner, all the rubber has come off but there is a really rough outline of the residue. I cant get it off and afraid of scratching my trunk even further. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE I will post pictures of what i mean after work!

Since you already tried heat and goo gone, try claying it. My clay bar helped get rid of some of that residue when I removed some of my trunk emblems. Since the TRD/L-Tuned spoiler doesn't cover all of the holes left by the OEM flush mounted spoiler, make sure you have a shop seal the factory bolt holes. Since the shop will have to repaint anyway, you might not want to worry about it.

this thing wont damage your paint if applied correctly. I removed my 10 yrs old stripes residue in my mini cooper with this. Basically it is like an eraser operated at high speed.
People use this to remove double sided tape, stripes, stickers, etc. I think this should work for you. other than that, I would say put goo gone and let it soak for hours, and try to rub it again with microfiber towel.
goodluck.. =)

theres i believe 5 holes, 2 for bolts, 2 for the clips and on in the middle for no apparant reason... i cant take a pic of the whole trunk because my spoiler seals some of the holes already. but theres only 2 showing same size as the picture
