Default My friend needs some help (engine swap).

Some of you may know him, BlownIS200, is having trouble getting on CL so he asked me to post this.

He is most likely doing a 2JZ-GTE swap.
Some of the specs he told me about:
-3.4 stroker
-Twin HKS GT spec turbo's
-Some kind of standalone engine management
-6 speed transmission
-Nos setup.

He would like to know your opinions about it and stuff to look out for. I will foreward the info to him.

Thanks in advance.

theres a group in australia that did the same conversion, is200 to isgte. i will try to find the link for u, they have an entire write up on it and pics.

i hear good things about haltech for engine management.... as for the 6 speed, he will need a custom driveshaft. and he should consider swappin in the supra rear end..

Hey

I would swap in the Supra rear-end, run a programmable engine management system. As for the engien that sounds great and a supra engine will pretty much take as much HP as you want. There are a few engine management systems he can run like Haltech, Motec, Microtech and SDS. I will be using a SDS on my 2.2L turbo corolla, i like how easy it is to program and has all the features the rest do for a lower price (well except motec they have alot of features but costs between 2 and 5 times more than the SDS) if he wants to check out SDS their site is sdsefi.com. Oh also i wouldn't bother with the 3.4 stroker because it doesn't add that much, it would help with torque a little but the Supra 2JZ-GTE already creats massive HP and torque with the stock displacement. And don't forget to get a aftermarket cluch and pressure plate if he wants to make massive HP.

Who is he getting to do this conversion or is he doing it himself? I wouldn't do something like this myself.

He is having a shop in the UK do the conversion.
An IS340TT conversion.

At last, ive manadged to get into the site again............

thanks richie, and all that have replied, the rear end swap, can someone tell me exactly what i require,i am starting this conversion in Jan,at the moment i am not sure which ECU i will be using, possibly Autronic SM2,

eventually we are aiming for 700bhp,with a possible 1000 with gas,but were gonna do the build up over the next 12 months, the company who will be doing the implant are in Japan at the mo talking with HKS and doing some shopping
( http://www.tdi-plc.com )......European HKS dealers

the basic list of mods at the mo,after instalation are:

3.4 stroker kit
Forged pistons
Forged conrod
titanium conrod/crank bearings
Billet high flow fuel rail
twin fuel pumps
metal head gasket
modified cylinder head
camshafts (264 degree)
metal intercooler pipes
HKS "R" spec intercooler (600x300x97)
x2 GT turbines
larger injectors
and all the monitoring guages and meters
plus all the extras that will be needed

i will post as and when things start happening

Not trying to be rude, but it sounds like a lot of extra parts to build an engine that already makes those numbers on a stock bottom end??? But then not eveyone has a 3.4l engine, so I guess it's alright for something to be different??
