Default adjustable cam gears

whats up, ok , i want to buy some cam gears for my IS300, but i dont know if they will do much in performance. i saw a small vid and they said adjusting the cam gears can give power all over the power band. all i have at the moment is a cat back and air intake(soon spark plug and wire + headers), will that make a differance? please, need feed back. thank you

Everything your getting will make a little difference, the cam gear the most. You can only get one gear because you cant change the VVTI one. If you really want to wake it up get yourself some BC 264 cams. They will really set you off with the cam gear and you can run them on stock ecu, but if you get a piggy back and tune you will be happy

They may have custom painted their vvti Gear or swapped in a non vvti 2JZ head/motor

If you want to keep VVTI (which you should) than just one. The HKS is great, thats what ill be using when I'm back up and running. Plus only one cam gear needs adjusting. remember if you want you could always remove the VVTI gear and paint it to match

I think dsouthmia0 is talking about the cam gear & bloodlinex is talking about the actual cams.

Do not buy eBay cam gears go with a five bolt design like Titan even the revised hks cam gears are good. U can only replace one cause the other it your victim cam which is controlled by the ecu and so on. It helps with low end power and efficiency. Unless you are going with a full stand alone and turbo just buy one brand name cam gear. As far as gains having actual camshafts and a safc at least will get you some good gains over all if you have just an intake and exhaust you won't see much gains. Hope this helps
