Default wheel/ tire question.

Ok. I am new to the IS300 but have been building cars for about 10 years. I have heard wide tires in the rear can take some work. My question is what would it take to get a 285 (or larger) out back and 235 (or larger) up front either on a 17 or 18 (ie. offset, rolling, cutting ect). I am open to about anything including flares. I plan on lowering the car about 1.5" all around. This is a GTE project with a hp goal of 750-800 whp (so traction is going to be an issue). thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to the site, 285s will take a little work but can be done. Why not go for some 245 MT drag radials? With that much horsepower it is really hard to get decent traction anyway.

I will be running a slick at the track i am just looking for a wheel and tire combo that will keep the car somewhat street-able. This project will not be starting for a few months as we are campaigning a supra in NSCRA's True Street and IFO Forced Induction Pro this season. I am just doing some research. Some of you may know my teammate Matt. You can follow our drag racing antics on FB (facebook.com/1320motorsports). I hope i am not breaking any rules by posting that. We are not a shop. Just 2 guys with a garage. =)

Yeah for sure but I just recently sold it! Should be loading it on a truck in a few days.... Still got the 350, might start doing some stuff to it again.
