Ive got a 01 pearl white IS, stock chrome headlights. Considering blacking them out, but not sure if it looks better the way it is, or should i black them out. Looking for opinions

Definitely black them out but take your time and do it right.

 

IMO its better to just buy them knowing they are sealed all the way around and you get to start with fresh plastic on the front not having to worry about the abuse yours has taken over the years.

I got mine for like $220

 

I dont mind putting in the work to blackout the headlight housing. When im not across the country with my job assisting the process of making gasoline, ive got nothing but time. Besides DIY seems to be a pretty simple solution to spending 200+ dollars on something purchased on ebay. If you use the proper amount of clear silicone, it shouldnt leak, i usually use Clear windshield silicone for those types of apps, it doesnt leak, takes heat well, cheap, and tough as nails once dry

lovin the halo's whitehorse! Are those factory headlights? if so how did u pull off those halo;s, they are sick

 

yeah they're factory lights. I bought the halos from Flashtech and had David from TunedParts help me solder the halos and paint the headlights. I'd recommend him if you're not up to doing it yourself.

From EXP the used headlights on 2001's don't take the mod very well. The glue will be tough even when heated and won't seal proper. The silicone is a bad idea since it's not the same as the oem glue and looks like crap. Get new OEM lights and paint them yourself and swap the ballasts over, or get someone to do the mod for you who has done alot of them and knows how to seal them without leaks. I will bet your 2001 headlights will leak!
