LS1 in a is300 need some gauge help
First off I've done hours of searching with no luck on this forum and others. I would rather lurk then post.
I'm planning my second Ls1 hybrid swap. I think the is300 is a great platform for this swap. I have almost everything planned out except the gauges. I understand most of the gauges operation is controlled by the ecu. I need to know what guages are directly controlled by the ecu and which ones I might be able to intercept. Having a working speedo, , tachometer, fuel level, oil pressure and engine temp are important to me.
Also do I need to keep the factory ecu to retain my alarm and keyless entry?
I have a 2001 Is300 I know the gauges in the 2002 are a little different.
Thanks
Matt

This guy did a V8 swap with I think a GS430 engine but there mentions of his wiring and ECU this is an old post but there might be some helpful info.

Yeah I know Brad, I spoke with him on the phone. It seems alot of stuff goes through the stock ecu (even more than I thought). If I continue with the project I will document it on this forum. Untill then any info you guys can throw my way will be helpful.
Thanks
Matt
