computer learning autogearbox...question
i have a question regarding the computer learning the way you drive.... how many miles do you have to go for it to learn your driving style and does it make a significant.... or should i say noticeable difference? also does it affect the acceleration in any way? Example... if you drive slow after reseting the computer does the car accelerate slower???
Hi as a new owner of a lexus IS 300, i have made some mistakes if you read my thead [alan IS 300] it may help
what i have been told by lexus UK is drive the vehicle hard for 200 mile this will teach the gearbox computer? my is300 is now 28 day old,i done this and the car now and drives great.
P.s you dont have to comlete the 200 miles in one go-just drive it hard
Best wishes

Basicly the computer learns if you floor it often, or if you accelerate slowly. Also the break assists works like that too, to determine if it should be more active in it's effects.
If you floor the car a lot, it will stay in gear longer before upshifting. Also it will start the car in 1st gear from a stop, rather than 2nd. If you barely press down on the accelerator you'll start in second.
