Default question about cranking

I noticed on a lot of cars, IS300 included...that when you crank it, it drains some of the power from all the warning lights, spedo led's, radio guages, etc. So when you crank the car the lights dim, some almost turn off, then turn back on when the car is cranked...in the long run, is this bad on the interior lights, warning lights, and led's to have power sucked for a second each time you start it? I don't want any of the warning lights to blow and I don't realize it ya know, plus I don't want to have to replace any of the console led's

Sort of like this, the spedo dims, radio goes off, A/C dims

Its the battery. Its getting low and needs to be replaced. Get the highest CCA possible. That will reduce the dimming of the lights. Also, might want to brighten them a little more than what there set at. They always dim, when starting the car. Imagine everything that is electrical, is coming from the battery. And when you first initially start your car, you are using the battery power also. But once the car is started, then only the radio, lights, etc... is running off the battery. Thats why it doesnt dim.

IS300's dont have LED's in the guage/center console. Its all peanut bulbs with an Orange condom on it. Thats how it illuminates orange. Some have changed over to LED's, so they can go with superwhite or blue. What color are your guage?

Well my main question is, in this video clip...see how all the warning lights dim because of his bad battery..will that cause them to fail faster??? Will that make the radio display and all those console lights die faster?

i think one of the main points is3 ftw is trying to make is that it really depends on the type of lamp you are talking about. If its the regular incandesant bulbs then they will have a shorter life span from this on/off/on than led bulbs do, if you were to have a switch on a regular incandesant bulb and a swithc on a led bulb and flicked them on and off the same amount of times the incandesant bulb would burn out way faster than the led bulb

i dont think its so much reliant on the brand of battery as it is cold cranking amps that the battery puts out

the brand of battery is really going to be a question more along the lines of longevity and accuracy for what their cold cranking amps etc. are

this is a timely post. last week i had to replace the original toyota factory batter because of a dead cell. but with my new battery its night and day how it cranks. it sounded like it was struggling before to start.

i got a battery with 880 cca and the car seems to run better. but definately starts so much easier.

I just don't want my abs light or CEL to blow out and me not know it. Or I notice some of the warning lights go out and I have to replace them, it seems like a pain to replace those.
