- Timing belt + water pump = #1
As I said in my message in one of your earlier posts. If the timing belt has not been changed yet you should make sure to get at least $1500 automatic deduction from the cost of the car becuase that's about how much it is going to cost to change timing belt + water pump.

You could easily check your owners manual for manufacturer recommendations. Or just call around to local dealerships/mechanics to get price quotes and ask what needs to be done.
Typically the 90.000 maintenance is-inspect the ball joints-brake hoses and lines-brake pads for wear-disc brake system-serpentine belts-drive and propeller shaft-exhaust-differential fluid-steering-valve clearance.they will replace the spark plugs-air filter-coolant-oil change-trans flush.you do not need to go to the dealer for this service or go to a local shop that you know is good someone that won't eff you over and knows that they are doing.
I just did a quick google search and this is what some dealership did for some guy on another forum....
replace engine oil & filter, add oil supplement
replace engine oil & filter, add oil supplement
-rotate & balance all four tires. Set tire pressure + spare
-replace automatic transmission fluid
-replace standard transmission oil
-replace engine coolant
-replace differential oil
-replace tranfer case oil
-replace brake fluid
-replace engine air filter
-replace a/c compartment filter
-replace windshield inserts & add solvent
-replace gas cap gasket
-add fuel system treatment
-lubricate drive shaft bearing
-check & top off fluids
-adjust parking brake
-road test for proper operation
INSPECT
-coolant hoses
-front & rear disc brakes
-brake lines & hoses
-instruments & lights
-exterior lights for operation
-body & chassis nuts & bolts
-exhaust pipes & mountings
-rack & pinion assembly for leakage
-accessory drive belts
-steering linkage
-ball joints, dust covers & drive shaft boots
-tire condition, wear patterns, size-type match
-fuel lines, fuel tank, connectors & vapor vent system hoses
-perform complimentary vehicle wash
-repack wheel/bearings
-replace height control fluid
= $551.34
reccomended internal engine timming belt, water pump, drive belts, and spark plugs.
= $1125.25

i just came back in from under the hood, getting myself oriented with the location of everything and checking the status of everything like fluids and what not
oil - brand new
transmission fluid - brand new still that perfect cherry red and no burnt smell
power steering fluid - looks good
timing belt - maybe not new but looks like its in great condition
air filter - needs changed
brake fluid - forgot to check it lol
rotors - brand new
brake pads - brand new
spark plugs - um......yea......WHERE ARE THEY?
i pulled off the plastic engine cover and still couldnt find them, am i retarded or are they just not visible from there?

told you in your other thread my friend, spark plugs are under the throttle body. you know that upper timing belt cover you removed to view the timing belt? look further towards the firewall, 6 spark plugs directly down the middle. only... you have to unbolt the throttle body and slide it over or remove completely to access them. be careful with the plastic clips, they're made of jello and brittle from heatsoak.
here's some pics from when I did mine last month
first pic gives you a glimpse of the spark plug wires
2nd is of everything removed and just the spark plugs on the valve cover.
mcfilthy!

damn that sucks! well fortunately it doesnt have to be done very often lol, thats worse than in the rx 300, at least in the rx you didnt HAVE to remove the intake manifold, got any suggestions for plugs/wires if not OEM?
I used the bosch platinum 4 pronged joints on the rx and man did they rock! but i realilze this is a different engine so just curious to see what you guys have to say on the subject.
thanks for posting the pics too btw

I just reused the stock wires, I bought new clips -they're caps that slip over the end of the plug wires and clip onto the base of the igniter coil. there are 3 of them and I managed to break 2. I ended up buying 3 new ones at employee pricing (made friends with the parts dept)
BUT
I suggest just getting a new set of wires, the clip caps should come with them and it would have been cheaper and more readily available. Not sure if bosch or other non-oems come with them but some pics over at rockauto show them included.
The other clips that break are at the plug connection, I don't know how to remedy that other than cut and solder in new connector ends with in tact clips. I did a zip tie job on mine for the time being.
