yes. VVTI. if you swap them into the IS the VVTI will be a "direct" fit (use stock motor mounts). if you go with a non-vvti it will need custom mounts. plus you'll have problems with the ecu since it will no longer see vvti. (depends if you stick with the IS ecu or go with the Supra ecu etc.)

I'm not sure which is better. I've seen conflicting info saying the GE head flows better than any of the GTE heads, but I don't know how true that is. Your best bet is to research in the "go faster" section on my.is and check on supraforums.com too.

sorry to jack this thread but I was curious,
could you possibly run a Supra's Intake Manifold on the IS head?
because the way I see the intake piping after the IS is turboed, seems inefficient, and
I think the Supra's set up is way cleaner

that's actually why i said to research on supraforums. i remember reading once that the VVTI 2jz-gte's had weaker internals. but i haven't seen proof of this and didn't read too much into it. it said that the vvti internals were good to ~600hp while the non-vvti internals were good to ~800hp. again, i have no proof behind this, so i would look into it more.

i'm not sure if any of the guys that have done the vvti gte swap into the IS have gone over 500hp. so there won't be any solid info on my.is. i could be wrong though.

no you can't. the head's are different from the gte's and ge's. although there is someone working on making an adapter to put a GTE intake manifold on the GE head...

http://my.is/forums/f114/gte-intake-...dapter-386318/

you COULD swap a GTE head (vvti or non vvti) onto the GE, but that would be pointless unless you were building your block. the GE internals are the weakest link.

there are also people that sell GTE style intake manifolds for the GE. SRT sells one but i think it's like $800. there is someone else too but i can't remember. there is a lot more info on my.is so you might want to check there.
