Default Newb with a quick question

I've been lurking for awhile in the SC and IS side of things and hove found a couple of nice rides. I am leaning towards an IS because of the four doors. I found a '03 that viewing in person looks clean, 61k on the clock. Talking to the dealer it has been damaged and repaired in diver side right door. He is asking 10,500.

I believe it to have a salvage title so I have walked away, but he has called to see if I am still interested. I think I am, but want your expert opinions on what to offer. Is 8k too high? It has been sitting for awhile and drives like every other IS300 I have driven. I just don't want to have crazy problems down the road that I didn't think about when I bought this thing.

I've had 3 SC's in 7 years and 2 IS's in 3 years...... You want the IS.

8k is way too high for a salvaged title IS. I just bought my 2002 for $8500 last month with a clean bill. no more than $6-7k for a salvage car.

Thanks for the reply. The more I sit on this one the less of i think its a good idea. But if I spend 6k that leaves some cash to take care of some mods right off the bat.

Does anybody have any experience with salvage title cars?

Yes again, and you'll never be able to trade it in on anything so plan on keeping it until it rusts into the ground.
