I'm debating on headers also but it seems they don't really provide a lot of benefits for these cars. I've had several Toyota pick-ups and they really woke up with headers.
Maybe boost is the better way to go with the IS
There is upside for NA bolt ons, while there are downside for BOost. Just do your research, and find which way is better, in the condition you want your IS to be in.
I chose NA route. I hate down time, when my IS a DD
Just remember, you wont get over 250whp on NA
I/H/E, 80mm TB, Cams, Gears and all the electronics you need to get the max hp/tq.
Boost is everything on that list, minus I/H/E. Which you could save up to $1000 or more. Depending on the brand you would have gone with. Just dont try to start NA then decide to boost. Your savings will go in the toilet, along with your wallet.
yea i would not get headers if ur gonna stay NA.. the IS is slow even with power adders.. u wouldnt want a *LOUD* slow car.. i know i hate loud slow cars...
Since you're in the wonderful state of California, I don't think any of the headers are CARB approved. Pita when you have to smog, unless you know people.
