02 because it has intensa blue pearl color, the most out standing color in my opinion (lol i am pretty sure a lot of peopple would disagree this). for manual cars it also comes with graphite wheels, graphite tail light, LSD, and stiffer suspension.
however, i also hate the 02 cupholder and no storage pocket on top of dash like 04

I'm thinking about buying an is300 and my 240sx right now has no cupholders at all and it pisses me off. 
It hadn't even crossed my mind to look up little things like this until reading this thread. You guys have any pics of your cupholder, storage pocket, wheel/taillight color situations? Or any other little differences you can think of year-to-year.

all easy to change if you even like those options.01s were by far the worst year to have an IS300 i believe most people agree.

right now im staying away from '01 bc they are all automatic, and '05's bc they don't come with lsd. that's all i really know. i wouldn't mind leather over that other stuff too

01 because it's what I own and I don't want to wish I had another year.. haha.
I do hate that there's no arm rest and a few other things but it gets the job done.

i have an 02
cupholds SUCK so bad, i just use the thing under the arm rest and it works good for cans and large drinks
and i have the little tray above the dash, its where i put my phone and stuff and it works awesome!

Its been a week since I picked up my 03 IS300 and I believe its the best year ever coming from a
previous GS430 and Evo owner. It handles great,very good looking ride decent power
for an N/A but definitely gets better gas mileage than my Evo 9.
