Question difference between 01 & 05

ok guys, so sometimes i think i want a different car, so i go drive the car i'm interested in and i almost always end up not liking it ... so maybe i really like the IS300 more than i think

i've got an 01 and there are a couploe minor things that bug me about it ... so i've started thinking: maybe i just want an 05 (if these few things are taken care of)

1. 2001 doesn't have a telescoping steering wheel ... i want to know if any of you DO have a telescoping steering wheel and what year is your car ... this might be the number one beef i have (because i'm aware of it almost all the time)

2. centre arm rest ... i dont have one, i know i can buy an aftermarket one but i dont particularilly like that idea, i want it to actually be a part of the car

3. what are your seat heaters like? mine are on or off, and both previous cars i drove had hi & low (at least) and they seemed to heat up better

4. express up & down of more than just the driver window & sunroof ... anyone? this one isn't as big a deal, but if it's out there i want to know about it

that's all i can think of off the top of my head ... there's not a lot that i dislike, but the things that do bug me can definitely get to me

my 03 has a armrest but thats it. i dont have the seat warmer option, dont realy want it anyway.
my main beef's with the IS are the telescopeing wheel like you said and the seating position is to high for me. i'm kinda tall 6'2 and sometime feel like i'm going to bump the roof. i plan on buying a bucket sometime though so i deal with it but if i could get a telescope wheel i would be on cloud nine then i could lean back some more and not have to reach for the wheel.and then i wouldnt worry about the high seat.

2. center arm rest ... all 02+ have an arm rest

3. the IS heated seat buttons are only on and off, no option for hi or low.

4. my 03 only has express for drivers side window and sunroof.

GS FTW. Same motor, more options for the GS.

If you want an Armrest that looks stock. You can Modify an 02+ into an 01. I want to do this, but havent had the money. You would want to buy a complete kit. And make sure you have everything, if you buy used. Junkyards are the best. I will post a DIY on here, when I find it...FoundAll DIY for IS3/X50

I have the 1 button touch for all my windows to roll up/down. I can control them from the driver and all my passenger controls. I also have an aftermarket alarm with 2 window modules 1 for the front, 1 for the back, that make that happen. I also have remote start.
You cant get it stock that way. Sorry, if you were trying to stick with Lexus.

I also want a Telescoping steering column.

I hate my heated seats. The on/off is BS. I swear it doesnt work at the same time with the passenger seats. And when they come on, its not hot. It could be, my heating element is bad. And I need a new one. If by yourself, it shuts off, then on, then off, on, off, why

If you want to get an 04+, then you will get memory seat for 2 peeps.

Im not sure what yrs these came in, but I will give you a rough idea whats different between 01 and 02+

~of course armrest and memory seats.
~compass rear view mirror with auto dimming
~stock nav
~manual(5spd)
~all leather
~more colors to choose from
~ltuned exhaust/suspension/wheels(only on Ltuned ver.)
~sportdesign exhaust/suspension/wheels(only 3 color choices in TCM, BO, another color)
~better stock cd changer

I think thats about it. If I am missing anything, feel free to update

I'm slightly concidering a 3GS ... but a 2GS is just WAY to soft, kinda like piloting a pillow thru a lake ... not my idea of fun.

too bad on the telescoping steering wheel ... that's my number one beef

I dont like the 3rd gen GS. I vote for the LS430

This one has stock air suspension, from Lexus
