Default question about e-shift and mpg

ok i got a question about the e-shift. if you are driving about 75 mile on highway, open road, and stay in 5th gear 95% of the time only changing gears if need to get out of a tight spot. and then driving back in D are you going to get a big or if any fuel comsumption diffenerce?

thanks

The lower the cruising RPM, the better fuel mileage.

Are you referring to switching in and out of overdrive, not moving to second gear on the shift selector?

i put it into "M" on the freeway and keep it in 5th gear. my girlfriend is was freaky out cause i had it in "M" the drive over and then "D" back and is telling me that i am wasting her gas, it's her car. now i looked at the tank the whole time and to me it went down the same amount. when i was in "M" i was not going up and down the gears a lot. just as if the car was in "D" and down shift if you were trying to get past a truck.

Default gears

It is the same as I switch back and forth and there is no difference in the gears, whether you are in "m" in 5th gear or "d" in 5th gear.
