Hey All,
I am about to purchase a OEM Lexus car cover for my car. I'm going to be covering my car outside and had a question about security. Does the OEM cover have security loops on the side so I can loop a lock and cable? If so, are the loops easy to cut off so the criminal can just cut and take it to go?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Patrick

Hey Patrick,
does it have to be OEM and what type of fabric are you looking for the thick Evolution type or the light weight cloth type?
We got a real good deal from Steve at Carson. It came with a lock & cable, a plastic window to show the liscense plate, mirror pockets, storage bag. The cable hole is reinforced, but honestly if they want to cut the cable a large cable cutter will do.
The one feature I LOVE is that there are front and rear straps that go under the front and rear of the chassis, not just the center cable lock. Without these straps, the cover can get a gust of wind to go underneath and blow the cover off the car.
It's happened on my car many times already.
You should stop by some time and check out the cover if you like.
I need to look up the price at home, so you can PM me if you want to know how much it was.

OEM cover is only secured by to straps tethered to a carrying bag. The straps and the bag are secured by your trunk. There is no loop to attach a lock and cable. But it the fit is great, even with a body kit. I should take a pic of mine tonight when I have the cover on. Originally Posted by kaidoy021

BTW, no car cover material is impervious to a nice sharp set of scissors.
Also, the one RMMGS4 has is great as well. It's just a matter of choice as far as having one that says Lexus on the front, or a plain one that does the same purpose. Thanks for the replies.
I already received my OEM cover and it does have loops at the bottom. And yes, I know a pair of cutters and my cover is gone (knock on wood). Let's hope I can keep my cover as long as I have my car.

Ooops i overlooked the loops. I just noticed it the other night when i was putting them on. You could put a lock and cable but it's not gonna stop someone from cutting it unfortunately. Enjoy your cover, it repels water very well...especially with the morning dew that sits on the roof and such.Originally Posted by kaidoy021
