I am saying the first gen-IS'. Not because I own one. But I often sit outside and stare at my car and enjoy the uniqueness of it's look. I love the look and how it drives. It's a great car!!!

Mostly they think I'm a car freak. If I'm not staring at it, I'm working on it, washing it or detailing it. That's all!!!

What, if anything, have you done to it (mods)? I used to stare at my car the first few months of ownership but not so much anymore. I'll examine the finish after a detail but that's more to check out the products I've used.

Post pics so that we can stare at it too

Nothing... yet!! I'm still in the early stage of, "I just love my car!!" I plan on changing the exhaust and putting a nice set of 18's on her in the Spring. So many things to choose from. And maybe giving her a few extra horses to cruise down the highway...We'll see.

I'm still bias towards the first generation IS, but I'm looking forward to seeing the IS-F when it comes out.

1st gen style wise, interior or exterior . . . the chronograph gauges are classic! Has better exterior dimensions . . . i can still squeeze thru traffic with this gem.

power wise, got to compare manual IS300 to manual IS250. . . 1st gen has more power and weighs 200lbs lighter than 2nd gen. which would u get?

exactly.

gotta say 1IS ... I was coming down from school today and I was driving beside a 2IS.

1 - what is with those mirrors? Hello some misc truck.
2 - when I came up behind the 2IS I thought it was a Camry ... not that I think it's an ugly design ... but how about not making the IS and the Camry looks very similar
3a - 1IS looks original, 2IS: not so much
3b - 1IS looks sportier and more agile, 2IS looks just all around bigger and therefore less sporty

I think both are great cars... but the original IS300 was more unique. For the stage I'm at right now I prefer the original IS300 because it has a very aggressive and sporty look to it. The new IS is much more luxurious than the original IS300 and fits better into the general Lexus image. BUT... I still prefer the "more raw" experience of the original IS300.

I found this interesting.

I for the longest time wanted a first gen IS.. but once I saw them side by side and drove the IS350 I was sold on the 2nd gen. Hey, I agree we need smaller side mirrors but we more than make up for that with the power.

I don't own either one, and I like both generations. But I think 2nd gen still looks better than the 1st gen.

The overall look is better but I prefer the drivetrain of the first gen.
