Question about IS300

Ok guys..
Most of you know I bought a RX300 in January...well..
The gas prices are getting higher & higher where I live and I am also wanting to start medical school come next year if I get accepted! Soooo anyways..
I have thought long & hard about this..I am thinking about selling my RX300 and buying a IS300 instead..
How is the gas mileage on these..any recommendations on this car at all?
I travel alot & really need something a little better than my RX300 but I dont want to give up Lexus all together..

gas mileage even worse. it's 18/24. the is300 is NOT a gas saving car at all. you are much better off with the rx300 imho. or if you want even better, get the es300, es330

I have a 2001 IS and besides all the problems I have had with it (which have all been my own bad luck) it is a great car. I love it. I wanted the RX but when I saw the IS I decided it looked so much sportier. It is small and definitely not a family car but it gets me to and from work.
