differential noise

I am in the market buying a used manual IS300. I test drove one (02) and every time when i shifting, i can hear a clump noise in the back of the car. what is it? is it normal?

that's only from 1st to 2nd gear right? if so, then it's "normal"

I think i may have had that problem in my 2004 IS but it seemed to go away when the clutch was replaced im not saying that fixed it but just some info
