Clicking motorized noise behind dash???
I posted this on my.is but no one's exactly sure...
For the past several months, I've noticed a clicking noise coming from behind the dash regardless of whether my vent controls are on external or internal air. It sounds like some mechanism is trying to regulate the airflow temp and is having problems (sounds motorized, like the sound it makes when you switch between external to recirculated air). Someone on my.is suggested it's the blend door motor (which works in regulating the mix of warm/cold air according to temperature needs). It happens as soon as I start up the card, whether or not AC is on, and continues to happen the remainder of the time.
I took my car in for the 60k and the dealer couldn't figure it out (I claim ineptitude on the dealer's part as they couldn't understand what the problem was although it was clearly written in the workorder and is very audible when sitting inside with the doors closed) and they want to charge $200 just to look into the problem.
Anyone else have this issue and resolved it? My only workaround at the moment is to crank up the music. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

I'll try to post a small video later tonight when I get home. Unfortunately my car is out of warranty (60k) when this problem reared its ugly head and I'm not looking forward to a $400 repair
Thanks.

Didn't get a chance to capture the noise on video...went out last night to take it and it's the one time it decides NOT to make the noise
Another one of those ambient temp dependent issues I guess. We'll see.
