Default lobsided car

i was pumping gas today and i noticed that my driver side sits about 1 finger gap lower than the passenger side, both front and rear. i am riding on stock suspension with 57K miles on the car. is it time for new shocks and springs? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

That's actually a natural characteristic of our car in stock form or with aftermarket lowering springs. The left side of the car sits a little lower than the right. The only way to correct that obviously would be w/coilovers.

that's correct, the car is lower one side

even with my coilover, i have to lower one side more than the other

Is there a particular reason for that? I noticed a few days ago that one side is lower than the other and I have coilovers...so I'll adjust the other side to match, but just curious as to why this would be a natural characteristic of our car...especially since its a Lexus!

We're talking about no one in the vehicle. Empty and unloaded. The car sits like this naturally. Even the Right hand drive models sit the same exact way. Left side is lower than the right.

on the jdm version i can totally understand since once the driver is in the car it will lower the right side a bit and probably make it more level. i think that's the intention

but for the US spec i have no idea why they do it that way though, or why not make it the other way

Man you are so right. Since the IS got coilovers installed today I measured the height and 3 of the fenders were the same height off the ground. The left front was atleast a quarter inch lower.

I thought about adjusting the LF coilover, but I'm wondering if pushing the left front up will bring down the right rear?

On second thought, I remember the driveway is not that even where the car was parked. Hope that's it.

i can tell you the answer. yes it will affect it. i have adjusted my coilover enough, once you lower or raise one side (or just one), it will affect the height of the others as well. so it takes time and experience to do it right

i still remember when i first noticed that the rear it too high but the front was perfect, i lowered the rear and then i noticed that the front was jacked up..

This sounds very strange. I have not noticed that on my 98 ES. In fact it doesn't have this problem...my coilovers are at same height on both sides. Maybe it’s a 2000 + issue
