Hey Y'all!


I see that no one had mentioned this on the site, I was just curious as to why. I'm new at the whole Auto upgrade thing so pardon my ignorance. I did call them (jet) and they said that I could expect 13-15 hp increase which sounded good to me but is there something that I may not be privy to here? This would not surprise me cause it seems I made the wrong choice already with the Injen Intake.:(

I didn't know jet had anything for a lexus with vvt-i. I thought the lexus ecu was to complicated to hack. If i were you i would wait on this.

Since you already have an intake get the apexi s-afc to go with the intake and i believe you could get that 13 to 15hp.

When I talked to the jet people they said that they have to send me a kit 1st, I then send them my chip, they re-program it and send it back. This takes 3 days it seems. I'm not sure if that makes sense or means anything to any of you but I thought I'd tell you what was told to me.:)

As for Apexi s-afc, I would get that in a New york moment but I'm not sure if anyone in my area would be able to install it correctly. I live in Ft Myers, FL which is basically Gods waiting room if you get my gist.:) If this can be put on with out a great deal of expertise I would certainly give it a whirl though!

Yeah i knew how the jet deal works. You send them yours then they send it back to you.

What got me worried when i looked 2 years ago was that the guy said they had it for my car. But , when i looked on the website my car wasnt listed. I was thinking he was going to give me the 98 supra ecu upgrade. He thinking since my car and the supra had the same engine that it would work.

I know what you mean about not having anyone to tune your car. I live in Mississippi and am in the same predicament. I bet Toyomoto can do it for you. I know they are in Florida but i forgot what city.

ok well first off a JET chip for our car? that is the first time I have ever heard that anyone is makin chips for our car... I find this somewhat sketchy... not to mention I knnow alot of ppl who have bought Jet chips and have not had good luck with it... if you are lookin for something like that go with a company that specializes in our cars... if you are in FL go to toyomoto.. they are located in Miami..they know GOBS AND GOBS of info and can easily do that install for the S-AFC...that would be your best bet..This is thier phone number.. tell them that thier shop was recommended by clublex... they do very good werk..Tel.# (305) 599-3050

There was an IS300 on ebay with a Jet chip upgrade a few months ago

 

hmm interesting.... I wish I hada BOAT to go fast in... some day

 

I'm w/fairuza on this one. The actual performance results from some JET chip mods have been inconsistent at best. Some get good results, some get no results at all.

I would stick to a specialized Lexus tuner who has worked w/Lexus cars and is familiar w/the product line. I've heard good things about Toyomoto and they would be more than qualified to tune your IS.
