Nice. I knew it was only a matter of time before someone did this. Didn't take very long at all.

sweet! Very cool install. I would maybe get the install shop to clean up the trim around the USB hub, though.

Congratulations!!

Thanks for the complements. The first time I knew of this machine, I already started to plan on installing it into my car. As for the usb trim, thats my fault cause I just wanted it to be done for the meet and kinda pushing them, but I am going to have that taken care of this week if I can find time to leave work for a bit.

Well its been a while trying to get back on to every board again. I have been so busy with this project. Its taking up most of my time. For the few of you who do know what I did, I have some updated pictures. For those who don't, I took the Mac Mini and installed it into my car. This is the second install I did with this unit. I feel better about this one. The newest update- Iinstalled a custom touch screen in the dash and moved my radio into the glove box. The USB 2.0 and Firewire hub in mounted below the touch screen and the Mac Mini is installed in the arm rest.
I just got back from Daytona Spring Break Nationals on Sunday and getting ready fot HIN in Orlando. Hope to see some of you there.

Very nice. The second install is clean. Is all your music now controlled through the Mac mini via iTunes? Does OS X work well with the touch screen? Were you a Mac user before the Mac mini or a convert?

Thats hot!!! Good work.

I'm not to familiar with the MAC line, but is this Mac Mini work like a regular Mac machine?? Or is it some sort of miniture Mac with less features sort of like that windows program that is used for PDA's and such. What were some of the advantages and disadvantages?? Thanks bro. Keep up the good work.

Mac mini uses the full-blown version of OS X (which would be the equivalent of XP Pro for you WIndows users). There are NO hobbled versions of Mac OS X; Apple only makes one version for consumer to pro (and a version made just for servers called Mac OS X Server). BTW, the regular version of Mac OS X can also be used as a server (it comes with Apache) but it doesn't have all the admin utilities that "Server" has.

Yes all my music is controlled though the Mac Mini using iTunes. The touch screen works awesome!! I have been a Mac user since the Apple IIe - Circa 1984-85 IIRC running @ 1Mhz. Then had a LC 475 introduced 1993.10.21 and moved my way on up the computer chain.

Right now the machines I have that are running are a PowerTower pro 200 up-clocked to 266Mhz because 312Mhz was too much, Beige G3/266 introduced 1997.11.15 up-clocked to 300Mhz, G4/450 (sawtooth) introduced 1999.08.31, Ti Powerbook 866Mhz, and the newest additions would be the Mac Mini 1.42Mhz, 2.5GHz Dual Processor G5 Server. I finally, I am waiting for my Xserve to arrive sometime next week. I can't wait.

Thanks, I feel the same way. I mean I like the first one because it was technically the first Mac Mini installed in the car and was very publicized nationally and internationally on the internet, but the second one looks more like stock. I am really happy with this one. There is more to come through out the rest of the year.
