i just purchaced my dream car an04 IS 300 in december 
and i like the power it has 
and it is a daily driver i have some experience to modifing cars and i would like to do the work myself. the previous car i had was a honda, i was satified but i wanted more. i am hesitant on purchasing aftermarket parts and want to get the most bang for my buck. you could say i am trying to do research before i do anything. i am sure you guys and girls get this a lot but what kind of basic mods can i do to get more power out of my bone stock 5 speed IS. Any recommendations are welcome.

P.S. i have riden in blown cars and i like the feeling and sound

Welcome to CL!
The basics...intake, headers, exhaust. Just do a few search queries here on CL or even IS300.net and you'll get alot of answers. And no, there are no chip upgrades for any Toyota/Lexus ecu.
