What do you guys/and gals think about a universal car cover. The pollen in florida is really bad and every morning when i go outsid it is covered in pollen. Would a universal car cover be ok? I just want something that will keep the pollen off and not scratch my car. I saw one at target yesterday it was like $50 and they have them in like s,m,and large.

I got the universal IS300 cover for pollen problems....Solar yellow paint.
Seriously, Lexus, I think, makes a factory one you can get through Lexus parts departments. You might be able to special-order a Toyota Altezza one (same car) cheaper through a Toyota shop.
Keep one thing in mind with a cover...you MUST keep the paint clean. if you take it off and put it back on numerous times over dirt, dust, particles, etc.....it will abrade the paint.
to me the perfit fit makes it impossible for the cover to rub against the body of the car by wind, people, etc... if you get a super big cover, put it on, wind and stuff will make the cover rub with the body, imho it's not good
I was pretty much on the same boat as far as car covers were concerned. Looked at ebay for their 40 dollar universal is300 car covers and also at Pepboys/Kragens/Autozone for universal car covers.
Was very leery of the quality especially for universal types - like roniml mentioned - fitment issues might actually damage the paint instead of protecting it , and the extra slack would probably scratch up the paint . Which I did not want to happen.
So, finally decided to get the real deal - lexus factory is300 car cover. Fits like a glove - securely without any slack - and has ample room for people with bodykits .\
just my .02 worth

Everything you've been told here is correct. Never cover a dirty car and never cover a car will an ill-fitting cover. The OEM one is really the only one you should use.
By the way, pollen is worse than dirt when it comes to abrasion under the cover. During pollen season, wash it and cover it immediately. Any pollen on the paint under the cover will work like sand paper.
