As for the IS430...definitely welcoming to see at the LA Auto Show. That was one of the highlights for me this past Sunday at the show. There weren't too many cars that interested me at the whole venue this year unfortunately.

Great Pictures. I also went to the show and saw the IS430. I really like the grille of the car. Does anyone here know anything about it? I contacted Rod Millen, but they don't know anything about the grille, said it came with the car from Toyota/Lexus Design Studio as their project car...

that mesh grill on the RMM IS430 is a one off one of a kind in house design.

What Flipside is trying to say is that Lexus custom designed it (In house) for the show car only. So the IS430 project car is probably the only car to have the grill and it's probably the only one ever made. I doubt Lexus will ever offer it for sale.

What up Ryan.... yeah, the car show was weak this year. I only like the accessories part and it was lacking some good vendors. I think more companies are putting more resources into the SEMA show than the LA car show. Oh well, I still will go every year. It like a ritual....

I agree as well Ken, nothing too exciting except for the Carrera GT.

Question

So does anyone know how serious Lexus is about putting the 430 into production?

serious or not it won't be on the current generation for sure. this is more like a test trial for lexus and they are trying to see how many people would want it. sadly lexus already say they won't persuit true performance (they want balance) so they are not fully committed to compete against the m3 or c32. but if they see a real market (read: quite a few people will buy) for the is430 then when the redesign the car they might make it into production as well
