Help - Red fluid leaking from radiator cap or the weld/seam below it.
My battery died and I noticed the fluid when I we t to jump the battery. Drove it home praying it would make it without anything crazy and it made it home just fine. No over heating whatsoever. 30 minute drive on Denver freeways which is not fun.
When I got home, I noticed the fluid was boiling out from below the radiator cap from one of its seams. See photos. I can’t tell if it’s coolant or if it’s tranny oil though.
Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The seam where I noticed the fluids boiling out of. When I squeezed the hose, you can see the bubbles coming out from that seam.
The radiator has failed and needs to be replaced. Same exact thing happened to mine in 2015 (see picture below). This seems to be easily the #1 way the IS300 radiator fails, as I've seen this same exact crack so many times. Fortunately, replacing the radiator is easy. I used a Denso unit from Amazon.
