IS 300 Shift lock clicking noise
My 2002 IS 300 has just starting making an audible clicking noise when the car is in Park and I press the brake pedal.
I know the purpose of the shift lock, but hearing the noise is new - it's been silent up until now (21+ yrs/93k miles)
Here's my questions:
Thanks.
I know the purpose of the shift lock, but hearing the noise is new - it's been silent up until now (21+ yrs/93k miles)
Here's my questions:
- Since it started making noise, is this an indication that something will soon fail, making it impossible to shift out of Park?
- If the answer to 1 above is 'yes', has anyone diagnosed the specific issue and repaired/replaced the offending part(s) ?
- If the answer to 2 above is 'yes', can you point me to some part number(s) / instructional videos on repairing/replacing the part(s)
Thanks.
