NX350h Keep Battery From Deptetion
I’ll be on a long vacation and will keep my 2023 NX350h at my daughter’s garage in Southern California. I will ask her to turn the car on for a period to charge the battery. What is the frequency and duration of turning the car on that will keep the battery safely charged? Is once every other week for 15min sufficient to prevent depletion?
Depending on how long is long. LOL. I am going to assume at least a month or two, but not must more than that.
For the 12v lead acid, most would use a smart battery maintainer in the 1-2 amp range. This is the battery that will drain the fastest just from the parasitic drain to run the stand car elections
The li-ion battery hybrid battery will drain over time just due to self-discharge also (but a lot better than the ni-hi). Not a lot of hard data, but the consensus of some but if left in its normal 50% charge state, it should easily go a months- likely even several months with little concern.
Most **** folks, would not just start an engine to change the batteries every two weeks for 15min without driving, since it is hard on the engine with the oil and water dilution building up over time vs driving for a much longer time t burn it off.
So my recommendation is possible put on a 12v battery maintenaer and drive it for a reasonable road trip every two months.
Good you are asking about this. Apparently some snow birders come back to not only a dead (and possible damaged 12v battery) but also a drained hybrid battery- esp the older ni-hi.
This Car Care Nut UT channel also covers how to maintain a hybrid in storage and other info on Toyota Hybrid System.

I would think with modern fluids in a new car, no worries about several months of non-use. Like stated above, a 12v trickle charger would be useful to keep the starter battery from draining. I have used Battery Tender products in the past
I have gone for couple of months and I keep a portable Lithium Ion Jumper in the car. Jumped started it after the trip and drive for a hour or so the another destination, it recharges the battery without issue.
While this might work (we also keep a LI jump box in every vehicle), it is very bad for the Lead Acid 12v battery.
