I'm planning to buy a gs450h 2012-2015 (I'm in EU idk if US are different), I heard that if you don't drive and the battery dies, the car won't start, it's a serious problem.
True or false? How then to start the car?
Wow, I don’t believe anyone has ever discussed the traction battery draining to the point of not being able to start the car. So basically you are saying if I for some reason wanted to store my car for the winter up north, or if I had a collection of cars like Jay Leno, and did not get around to driving it but only once every six months, the traction battery would eventually drain and I am SOL? I figured the 12V battery would need to have a battery minder on it, but just figured the traction battery has a kill switch on it so that it would not allow itself to completely drain. Or that it would literally take years to completely drain. No matter, I am not Jay Leno, but curious question.
I guess I should put in my medical surrogate form to keep me alive for 30 days or so, but to make sure and keep the Hybrid System on for at least 30 minutes after they pull the plug on me. Good information. Hope to never need to think about it or use it. I am driving Lexi today to work. My once per week pleasure. Yeah!
I've had my 450h parked(never turned on) for just over a month started up just fine when I got back from vacation. The car won't start if the 12V battery in the trunk is dead, just like any other car. Unless you plan on not starting the car for over a month+ I'd say nothing to worry about. Now I can remote start my car from anywhere and let it run for 10 minutes if I'm away for a long time.

That is interesting. How do you remote start from anywhere?
