Hey everyone, I did search on the forum but couldn't find any discussion on this. In Canada, 350 Lux is almost the same price as 350h ultra premium. These two configs are almost identical except the hybrid engine.
My daily commute is about 30km (19miles). hybrid wait is 6 months + but I don't mind this if it's superior. I think both engines are proven over the years.
I'd like to hear your reasons for choosing regular engine vs the hybrid or the other way around.
I am quite confused.
We are waiting for a 350h premium (US) to arrive from the port.
We went with the hybrid for a few reasons. Main reason is fuel economy. My wife commutes about 200km daily, so the hybrid was appealing. We don't care about the 1.5 seconds we lose on 0 to 100km. We've also had hybrids for years, so we're familiar with how the drivetrain works. We are losing out on the ML stereo, HUD and panoramic moonroof, which we are ok with.
It's going to come down to whether you value fuel economy or the extra features. Fuel economy won for us.
This one is real difficult for me as I love the look of the painted wheel arches on the 350 F sport, and the F-sport look overall, especially compared to the (IMO) much more sedate looking 350h.
Another factor (at least in the USA) is that the 350 has the turbo engine, which requires premium gasoline, while the 350h, just recommends premium.
Lots of user posts/information indicating the regular gas is just fine in the 350h. I wouldn't even consider using regular gas in a turbo, unless the manufacturer said it was OK.
Personally, I'd stay away from the 350 for that reason alone, but that's just me being cheap about operating costs over the many years I expect to own the 350h.
Depends on your tastes, needs, and wants, and budget.
We really wanted the 450h+ but got the impression it was going to be a long wait. We are also not in one of the magic zev states that get allocation, so it was going to take some travel and extra coordination etc.
For us it was the fuel economy, so it was going to be hybrid one way or the other.
Also, not very fond of turbo. I know the modern ones are reliable and all that, some people love them.
I think it's mostly a personal preference thing. Those were our preferences.
F-Sport isn't available on 350h in US but is elsewhere. That could be a deciding factor. Not just the F-Sport features, but also the color options. Some people have more/less passion around colors.

I chose to wait for the 350h. Same reasoning as many others have stated above, it's the gas savings and cost of the vehicle is very similar in Canada (350 vs 350h). Why not save on some gas?
We got the 350h here in Delaware. Overall average mpg over 40. Locally getting over 50 mpg. In slower driving etc.
peppy when you want power. Go with 350h. Toyota/Lexus hybrid can’t be beat!

Traded in my RX350 for a NX350h and am now getting nearly double the mpg. The extra torque provided by the electric motors more then makes up for the decrease in HP when pulling away.
It appears that the 350 turbo is getting about 20-22 mpg (thread NX 350 AWD - Post Your MPGs!!) while the 350H is about 39-41 mpg. Reducing your estimated annual fuel cost be at least 40% should quickly show you that financially your better option is the 350H. Various comments suggest that if you don’t need/want the quicker off-the-line acceleration of the gas-turbo engine the torque of the hybrid for passing is more than adequate. Only real decision left is if you would be comfortable with the driving characteristics of a hybrid.
On a side note, has anyone heard any updates on the pano roof shortage situation? I wonder if the supply chain issue has improved
I don't know if this gives an idea but the dealer said that it would be 2 months for a non-pano roof car, and more like 6 months for pano. Though this was for non-hybrid versions. I assume by default hybrids are 1 year away.

Our dealer said about 6 months for hybrids, but it also depends. Sometimes people on the waitlist don't respond. We're waiting for our car to be released from the port and sent to the dealership. We deposited in late March.
My 2022 NX 350 F-Sport is currently 2011 miles, 90% highway driving (commute), 25.8 average MPG, and 28 MPG highway driving. I'm quite satisfied with this F-Sport's fuel economy performance. It's certainly not as fuel-efficient as Hybrid, but it's not too bad

My 350 F Sport is similar in fuel efficiency. I much prefer the turbo and I have found the 8 speed auto gear box is much better than a CVT (personal preference) plus the turbo provides for a far more effortless driving experience. Fuel cost I tend not to worry about so much.
