Default Rx 400 Temperature Gauge

Hi All
I have owned my 2008 RX400H now for a couple of months now.I have never paid any attention to the temperature gauge before.Today moving in slow to average traffic I noticed the temp gauge was very nearly up to the H (HOT)mark.I started to panic a bit thinking it was going to overheat and boil over!! I heard the fans kick in and it dropped slightly.Have checked coolant level and is fine. Now every time the engine kicks in, the gauge rises and then falls back to the middle once moving. Is this normal as never noticed it doing this before and other cars I have owned the temp gauge has always stayed in the middle most of the time? Thanks

Does not seem normal, I wonder if you have some air in the system. You may have to bleed the air out of the coolant.
