I'm not sure if this belongs in the Hybrid thread. Does the fact that its a hybrid affect its ability to tow? I don't see any threads about towing in general, so I'm starting one. I own a 2008 RX 400h. I want a camper. Google states that it has a 2000 capabity but then says "with towing package it's 3.5K," which makes no sense to me because how can something be towed without a towing package? *Edited I just downloaded the manual, but would still love to know about personal experience.
In any case 1. What is the actual towing capacity? 2. Who has towed campers - what are the weights and how has your experience been with various types of campers? Thanks!

I tow 5,000 lbs with my 2010 RX450H very often. It's just taking my boat to the launch ramp a few miles each way and only hill is the ramp. Actually had it up to highway speeds once and it felt sturdy. This is not definitive but it is a data-point.
